COSTECH climate research program

The overall goal of the climate research program is that contextually relevant knowledge on climate change adaptation and mitigation is in use by governmental and non-governmental stakeholder at various levels across Tanzanian society. Expected Outcomes: Tanzanian climate change research is strengthened. The capacity of Tanzanian HLIs and R&D institutions to conduct climate change research is increased Collaboration between research teams and other actors (government and non-governmental institutions, private sector, training institu The institutional capacity of COSTECH to undertake large competitive research calls is enhanced Expected Outputs: A broad range of Tanzanian interdisciplinary research Programmes on climate change are funded and completed (w/specific target of female project leaders) The participation of PhD and master students in climate change research Programmes is increased (w/specific target of female students) The participation of a broad specter of Tanzanian HLIs and R&Ds in climate research is increased Collaboration between research teams and a broad specter of other actors ensured The programme is implemented in line with the principles in the COSTECH grant manual Thematic priorities of the calls: Climate-adapted food production. The program is designed to promote female participation in research (Project leaders, other researchers and students). Project indicators include disaggregated data with specific targets for women (40% female project leaders and students funded).
